QTC Build completed a medical clinic fitout for Ashley & Martin at their Southbank location, consolidating two existing Melbourne clinics into a single, purpose-built facility. The project involved full demolition and strip-out, custom cabinetry throughout, and a design developed hand in hand with the client from a closed tender brief.

The Brief

Ashley & Martin engaged QTC Build to consolidate two Melbourne clinics into a single purpose-built facility within Southbank. The objective was to create a modern clinic that reflected the company’s established brand while providing greater operational efficiency and improved accessibility for clients.

Following a complete demolition of the existing tenancy, QTC Build delivered a design and construct solution incorporating four consultation rooms, two medical hair laser treatment rooms, two styling rooms, an administration office, reception and waiting area, workshop, tea point, breakout space and back-of-house storage.

The Challenge

While Ashley & Martin had a well-established clinic design from an existing interstate location, the new Southbank tenancy required the layout to be carefully adapted to suit the space without compromising the client experience or operational workflow.

The treatment rooms also required specialist electrical and ventilation services to support medical hair laser equipment, while maintaining compliance with the National Construction Code for a Class 5 commercial tenancy. As a closed tender, the project also required careful cost management to deliver maximum value without compromising quality.

The Approach

QTC Build managed the project from demolition through to completion, working closely with the client to adapt their existing clinic concept into a purpose-built Southbank facility.

Extensive design coordination ensured the layout, custom joinery and finishes reflected Ashley & Martin’s established brand while optimising the available floor space. New partition walls, vinyl flooring, electrical, mechanical and plumbing services were installed throughout, with specialist coordination for the medical treatment rooms.

Working closely with the building surveyor from the design stage, QTC Build developed a comprehensive compliance strategy, allowing approvals and construction to progress efficiently and minimising delays during delivery.

Ashley & Martin successfully consolidated its two Melbourne clinics into a single contemporary healthcare facility that supports both consultation and treatment services within one location.
